Assistant School Project Officer  

We are looking for an experienced Assistant School Project Officer to support our work in on developing and delivering school build projects. The Assistant School Project Officer will provide support to a small team of School Project Managers and may be seeking a career as a Project Manager.    

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be supporting the planning, development and commissioning of projects across our school estate. You will also be supporting our SEND Improvement agenda, as well as our capital programme, which includes an ambitious programme of projects that will increase SEND sufficiency and provide local specialist places for local children and families.  

You will work with the Project Team to assist in the delivery of all projects within the Programme Plan, work will include client liaison, client-side project support and the preparation of all internal documentation required to deliver the programme.

You will be required to: 

 

  • Develop strong partnerships both internally and externally, helping to harness the best resources to support the delivery of a complex programme of work.
  • An ability to learn and support in democratic reporting writing and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to grow your specialist skills and knowledge of the construction industry in particular school capital build programmes and development of specialist places projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering projects on time and within capitalised budget limits. 
  • 3 A levels, NVQ 3, HND or diploma (or equivalent experience).
  • Good knowledge of ICT including Excel, Word, Outlook and other programmes relevant to the role. 
  • Working towards PRINCE 2 / PMP / RICS or equivalent project management qualification or equivalent professional experience.  
  • Developing experience in a project management (or equivalent) role.   
  • Developing experience in the construction delivery phase of projects.
