Dorset Combined Youth Justice Service is looking for a Business Support Officer

About us:

The Dorset Combined Youth Justice Service (DCYJS) is a statutory partnership between BCP Council, Dorset Council, Dorset Police, National Probation Service Dorset and NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. The DCYJS works with children and young people in the local youth justice system. Our purpose is to help those young people to make positive changes to their lifestyle, to keep them and other people safe, and to help repair the harm caused to the victims.

Join Our Team as a Business Support Officer

We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised Business Support Officer to provide essential administrative support to Youth Justice Service practitioners and operational managers.

In this role, you’ll work independently with minimal supervision, managing a variety of tasks that require discretion, accuracy, and efficiency. You’ll liaise with the Police and Courts to obtain and record sensitive and confidential information about children involved in the Criminal Justice System—ensuring data is handled with precision and within strict deadlines.

You’ll use a range of specialised and standard business systems to support key functions such as data recording, case management, quality assurance, and financial administration. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.

We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn about all aspects of Dorset Combined Youth Justice Service (DCYJS) and Youth Justice processes, and who thrives in a collaborative team environment.

This position is based in Dorchester (County Hall), with opportunities for home working.
