Salary: Grade 6, SCP 16-22 (£29,572-£32,654 FTE) 

Actual Salary: £27,273 - £30,930 pro rata, per annum

Starting: December 2024, Permanent

Heathlands Primary Academy & Pre-School is a one-form entry primary academy located in West Howe, Bournemouth.  We have 170 pupils from Reception, age 4 through to Year 6, age 11. We are also fortunate to have our wonderful preschool for 3 and 4 year olds on site, as part of our Early Years base. The school is part of the Coastal Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust; a vibrant, collaborative Trust of twenty schools working together around shared goals, values and aspirations.

Heathlands Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a wonderful Children and Family Support Worker to join our dedicated and friendly staff team.  As a Children and Family Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting our children and families across the school community. As part of the role, the successful candidate will offer early pastoral, behavioural, EaL and SEND interventions, preventative support, guidance and advice to improve outcomes for children, young people and families within a school context, through working in partnership with pupils, families and other agencies. You will need to be able to work individually, and as part of the Inclusion and Safeguarding teams, to support the overall vision and values of the school.  

We are looking for a Children and Family Support Worker who:

  • Is passionate about helping children and families thrive
  • Is knowledgeable and experienced in working with children and families including safeguarding
  • Is able to build on existing good practice in the school
  • Demonstrates empathy, sensitivity and resilience
  • Has a good sense of humour and excellent communication skills
