Co-Facilitator - Poverty Truth

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

We have a vacancy on our facilitation team for a second Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Poverty Truth  Commission. We would welcome applications from those with experience of facilitating collaborative processes of engagement.

Poverty Truth Commissions (PTCs) ask the question: What if the people who have directly faced  poverty were involved in decisions about poverty? A PTC runs over the course of 2 years gathering a  group of commissioners made up of experts through experience – ‘Community Commissioners’, and civic and business leaders - ‘Civic and Business Commissioners’.

The PTC is about developing relationships of trust and empathy between commissioners, and  seeing what happens when their combined wisdom, resources and experience are brought  together – making tangible change in our communities.  See https://povertytruthbcp.org/ for more information.

Are you based in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and keen to be a part of making a   second Poverty Truth Commission happen in our community?

We are looking for a co-facilitator to design and host commission meetings in a way that champions equality, open dialogue and co-production between all commissioners.

  • In our Commissions, we  employ everyone on equal pay and share out tasks according to skills and energies.
  • The role is part time, up to 12 hours a week with a flexible working pattern, paid at £18 an hour, to include working on a Thursday.

How might you be able to contribute to the team?

If you would like to apply, request an application pack from julie@couragetothrive.org.uk, then take  a look at the job description and return your application form by 9pm on Tuesday 24th September  either online, by post or in person. A  postal address will also be supplied.

We aim to hold interviews on Thursday 3rd October.   If this date is impossible for you, and you are shortlisted, alternatives can be arranged.

If you have any questions and would like to talk through your application, please contact Julie Oates 07929 619279. We look forward to hearing from you!
