Job Introduction
We have an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Community Support Officer. We're seeking someone who is committed to delivering meaningful, high-quality support, helping individuals lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
The Community Support team provides housing related support to individuals living in supported accommodation. The service assists people to maintain their independence within the community, preventing loss of their home or tenancy by supporting individuals to gain, re-learn or maintain life skills in order to carry out their own day to day tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting and paperwork.
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertaking initial client assessments, reviews and support planning to identify needs, risks and desired outcomes.
- Supporting individuals with housing-related needs, life skills, and access to community resources.
- Promoting independence, dignity, respect and choice in all aspects of care and support.
- Providing guidance, advocacy and signposting to services including health, education, employment and financial support.
- Undertaking community monitoring visits to ensure quality and consistency of service delivery.
- Line managing and providing guidance and oversight to Community Support Assistants, ensuring safe, compliant and person-centred service delivery.
What we’re looking for:
- Health and Social Care Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent).
- Understanding of person-centred, strengths-based approaches.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the Care Act 2014.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- A full UK driving licence, own vehicle and ability to travel independently.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Full-time – 37 hours per week
6 month contract
