Community Therapy Assistant

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Being a Community Therapy Assistant is nothing like other typical jobs in the sector. You are often the first people in, to help people regain confidence and independence at home after a period in hospital, or to prevent a hospital admission.

Working independently, there is a large degree of autonomy within the role. You work alongside your line management team, to manage your client list every day so that it suits both you and the clients.

Reablement is not a timed service so if you need longer with a client - no problem - the team works together to help cover each other and share the workload.

If you are interested to hear about a typical shift for a CTA, please get in touch and we can arrange for you to meet one of our lovely Community Therapy Assistants for an informal chat (and a coffee!)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting people to undertake their personal care, and to empower them were possible to do much of this for themselves.
  • To monitor and feedback the outcomes and progress of people’s goals.
  • Support with medication and encourage independence where possible.
  • Complete care records, and any other relevant paperwork.
  • Facilitate access to the local community, or signpost to community groups and services.
  • Support people to undertake practical everyday activities, to meet their goals and regain independence.

A valid licence to drive in the UK is required as the role involves travelling and lone working in the community.

We offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • Full free training, including the time to train.
  • Free DBS Checks
  • Paid travel time between clients
  • Mileage at 45p per mile
  • 25 days annual leave as a starting point (pro rata based on full time working)
  • Weekend enhancements.

Full and part time contracts available.   14, 21, 28 and 35 hours per week.

Shift times are 07:00-14:30 and 15:00-22:30.

Hourly rate from £12.80 / £16.00 at weekends.

We do not advocate split shift working.
