Role Purpose

As the largest provider of adult and community learning in Dorset we are looking to recruit an Examination & Accreditations Officer to support us on our journey to ‘outstanding’ and to provide a wide range of administrative and support functions relating to the day-to-day operations of examinations and assessments. Together with a team of Curriculum Administrators with exam administration responsibilities, you will ensure compliance with Awarding Organisation and Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) requirements in respect of all examinations and assessments.

Main Responsibilities

You will co-ordinate day-to-day examination & accreditation activities across the service, including learner registration and certification, examinations room booking, allocation and coordination of invigilators, maintaining accurate learner records,  ensuring confidentiality is maintained and the safe storage and transportation of examination and assessment related materials.

You will work flexibly, with the ability to use hot desks in any of our learning centres and BCP Council touch down spaces, plus home working, however the successful candidate must be able to regularly come into our Poole Adult Learning Centre as our main exams centre.  You will have a flexible approach to travelling, to work from other centres when required. 

The Ideal Candidate

We welcome applications from experienced examinations officers, but also from administrators with excellent computer and customer service skills who may not have examinations experience, as training will be provided.

We are particularly interested in people with excellent communication skills - face to face, over the phone and via e-mail. You will have great attention to detail and good experience of data entry to accurately record and retrieve information using databases and Excel. You will be a good team player, able to work under your own initiative and will meet the requirements of the person specification.
