Job Introduction

Family Support Practitioner in the Children and Families First Service

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our busy front-line Children’s Social Care teams as a Family Support Practitioner.

You will assist social workers to engage children and their parents in a variety of ways to improve outcomes and promote safety. This might include one to one work with a child, implementing parenting strategies, undertaking detailed observations of family functioning, helping to place children in care, or working with the entire family.

It is varied and interesting work, with no two days the same.

We are looking for individuals with experience in working with children or adults who are able to think on their feet, come up with creative solutions, establish positive relationships, be assertive and keep the child’s safety at the centre of all your actions. You will not only work alongside social workers but also other agencies such as Health, Education, DV and substance misuse agencies.

To discuss this opportunity further please contact Service Manager Vanessa Johns at vanessa.johns@bcpcouncil.gov.uk
