Job Title:                           HR Manager 


Place of Work:             This is a hybrid role that includes home working, travel to and from our Head Office in Nursling, Southampton and to allocated schools across Portsmouth, Southampton, Poole and Dorset

 

Accountable to:              Head of HR / Deputy CEO

 

FTE:                                    37 hours per week, Term Time plus 2 weeks (41 weeks per year)

 

Remuneration:                Grade 10 (FTE £44,428 to £48,474) + £40 per month essential car users allowance.  

                                           Actual salary for working 41 weeks (£40,497 to £45,397)

 

Start Date:                        ASAP

 

Closing Date:                   Friday 1 March 2024 - Midday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Manager to join our experienced central HR team at Hamwic Education Trust (HET). 

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school. 

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual to support our Headteachers, Business Managers and Operation Managers with HR including employee relation issues, general advice and training.  A generalist with an up to date understanding of employment law, you will business partner our schools to give advice, guidance and support whilst actively contributing to HR projects.  If you are ready for a new challenge and enjoy working with an organisation where no day will be the same, then please apply.

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO: 

  • Is an HR professional with a proven track record, preferably with school experience 
  • Has strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Has been exposed to and supported with a broad range of ER casework
  • Has excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work well under their own initiative, using time efficiently 
  • Can complete work to a high standard
  • Has the ability to have difficult conversations when required
  • Has good business acumen
  • Has experience of working at a senior level
  • Has experience of working with data and can interpret information
  • Is confident and flexible with a pragmatic ‘can-do’ approach to HR problem solving
