ROLE: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
SCHOOL: Hamworthy Primary Schools: Hamworthy Park Junior School
HOURS: 31.67 hours per week, Term-time only (38 working weeks). 8.30am – 3.15pm, Monday to Friday (with 25 minutes paid planning time & 25 minute unpaid lunch break).
SALARY: F12-F17 (£28,598 - £31,021 per annum pro rata). Actual salary (£20,467.92 - £22,202.09 per annum). Based on under 5 years continuous service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HLTA to join our experienced, motivated and caring team at our Federation, which is part of the Hamwic Education Trust (HET).
We are seeking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who will provide daily teaching cover across the Junior School, under the direction of the leadership and teaching team.
HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 37 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 34 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.
Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School are part of the Hamworthy Primary schools Federation. JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:
The role would involve covering teaching in classes across the Junior school, from Year 3 to Year 6. Lessons would be pre-planned by teachers, and time given for marking and regular training. Our HLTAs provide regular teaching cover across the week, including weekly PPA morning sessions, as well as weekly timetabled afternoon lessons. Our HLTA team are highly valued and well supported by all staff, and are line managed by our Assistant Headteachers.
WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO:
- can work under the direction of the Assistant Heads and teaching team, to contribute effectively to the teaching offer within the school
- has experience of teaching classes, either as a teaching assistant, or as a HLTA
- can demonstrate knowledge of effective teaching approaches,
- can demonstrate good whole class management
- is a flexible and organised team player

- can demonstrate a positive attitude and promote the ethos and values of the Federation
