Job Introduction

Starting salary for this role is £30,518 p.a. 

This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Without exception all new starters begin at the entry point of the band, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organisation. Internal colleagues are also normally appointed at the bottom of the band, unless moving within the same profession and skill level, where the pay band is the same they can be appointed to the existing pay point.

ICT Service Desk Analyst

BCP Council’s ICT Service Desk is an integral part of the Modern Workplace department, working alongside colleagues to provide reliable support and tools for delivering quality services. We value every interaction, providing clear and friendly support for efficient work.

Our new ITSM platform, Halo Hub, offers smarter workflows, greater visibility, and an improved experience for customers and analysts. This is a great time to join us as we focus on responsiveness, empathy, and continuous improvement.

As an IT Service Desk Analyst, you will be the friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact for our users. You will help resolve issues, guide customers through solutions and make sure every colleague feels supported, whether they are delivering frontline services, managing critical systems or assisting local residents. If you are passionate about technology and great customer experience, and you want to be part of a team that is genuinely transforming how our organisation works, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

You will work across a broad range of technologies and responsibilities including:

  • First‑line support for incidents and service requests
  • Following ITIL‑aligned processes to ensure consistent, high‑quality handling of tickets
  • User and access administration across on‑premises and cloud environments, alongside support for Microsoft 365 applications and services.
  • Support for laptops, mobile devices and common applications
  • Clear and timely communication with colleagues to keep them informed
  • Logging, updating and resolving tickets using Halo Hub
  • Contributing to knowledge articles and service improvements

You will play a key role in helping users feel confident and supported, not just resolving issues but ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to a positive customer experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working on an IT Service Desk or in a technical support environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra, and Exchange
  • A clear and friendly communication style
  • A calm, patient and solution focused approach
  • A genuine passion for helping people and delivering excellent service
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing your technical capabilities
