From 1 December 2025, our refreshed Pay and Reward package comes into effect, bringing a new approach to how we recognise and reward roles across the Council. This means the salary for this role will be changing.
The pay range for this role will be £52,413 to £60,357 p.a. (pro rata for part time colleagues) from 1 December 2025.

About the Role: As an Inclusion Lead, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experiences of children with SEND across primary and secondary schools in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. You will provide expert advice, guidance, training, and support to mainstream settings, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on providing subject matter expert advice, guidance, training, support, and challenge to mainstream settings to deliver increased standards of achievement and inclusion for children with SEND.
- Raise standards of achievement and inclusion in mainstream settings by delivering systematic and strategic monitoring and intervention.
- Support schools in their delivery of ordinarily available provision and an effective graduated approach.
- Assist in whole school improvement for pupils with SEND by working strategically with various services to monitor and evaluate outcomes.
- Ensure strong partnership working between schools, parents, and pupils by promoting positive relations and supporting schools in their practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified teacher status.
- Significant experience working with children and their families in schools and settings.
- Experience working with children with a wide range of individual needs.
- Proven ability to work effectively with adults to develop their practice.
- Relevant training related to inclusion and working with children with special needs.
Personal Qualities:
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
- High levels of resilience and motivation to improve outcomes for children.
- Professional integrity, open and honest.
Job Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS & Children’s Barring required.
- Must be able to travel using public or other forms of transport or hold a valid UK driving licence.
