Role Purpose
We are pleased to offer a full-time Inclusion Officer post to join our Elective Home Education (EHE) team within BCP Council’s Inclusion Service.

Main Responsibilities
As an Inclusion Officer for EHE you will be meeting and talking to home educating parents and their children to understand how the education at home is suitable for the young person. You will be considering the child’s abilities, interests, and needs along with the parents’ views and relevant statutory guidance to decide whether the education is suitable.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate might have a teaching qualification but would certainly have experience of working directly with children and families, preferably with experience of assessing needs in some format. The right candidate will also be a skilled spoken and written communicator.
We are a small, friendly and supportive team with clear processes. You will be well organised, good at using your initiative and be able to keep up with a lively pace of work. Your ability to record information will be excellent along with being flexible and a solution focussed person who enjoys using their skills to ensure children get a suitable education. The elective home education team were assessed as good by Ofsted. Full training and support will be provided for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be working peripatetically across BCP.
