Intensive Housing Management Officer

Starting salary for this role is £34,434  (pro rata for part-time colleagues) 

This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Without exception all new starters begin at the entry point of the band, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organisation. Internal colleagues are also normally appointed at the bottom of the band, unless moving within the same profession and skill level, where the pay band is the same they can be appointed to the existing pay point.

The Intensive Housing Management team is responsible for managing all aspects of BCP Council's temporary accommodation portfolio. Placements within temporary accommodation include B&B, Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO’s), Family Hostels and self-contained properties both within council and private rented sectors.

This role will be responsible for delivering bespoke and challenging housing management solutions to customers who currently benefit from BCP Council’s homelessness services.

There is a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with BCP Council’s housing partners to support customers recovering from homelessness to achieve positive outcomes.

The post sits within BCP Council's Strategic Housing team and focuses on acting to provide safe and well managed property where customers with complex needs can thrive. The post will have a positive impact on the lives of individuals, neighbours and local communities.

The successful applicant will work closely with wider teams and partners to resolve housing management issues including maximising use of each property through effectively voids management, oversight of contracted services, effectively dealing with anti-social behaviour and ensuring vulnerabilities are identified and supported.

There will be a need to work as part of a multi-agency team, with agencies such as Dorset police, NHS and commissioned support providers.


The Ideal Candidate:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-agency environment with our residents and communities to address those issues which are causing the greatest harm .

Candidates will have experience of working in a housing related setting dealing with issues which can be complex and challenging.
