Winchelsea School is a community special school committed to meeting the needs of pupils, aged 4 to 19, with a wide range of learning difficulties. As well as operating from our main school site we also have satellite classrooms at Kinson Academy, Old Town Infant School, Canford Heath Junior School and Magna Academy.
The working hours for this role are 11:00am to 1:30pm.
Main duties are to:
- Lead the lunchtime supervisor team on main site and satellite in a positive way and structure safe, happy lunchtimes for the children;
- Lead and support the lunchtime supervisors in all duties across all sites;
- Keep accurate lunchtime records;
- Follow the school’s Behaviour Policy and Guidelines and record unacceptable behaviour on the school system;
- Lead and supervise the children, if necessary, on the playground or in the classrooms on a wet day;
- Collect the children from the playground, assist as necessary in washing and toileting and supervise them into the hall, lining up after lunch to go back to class;
- Teach the children table manners, including how to lay cutlery on the tables and encourage them to eat sufficient food;
- Keep the dining room safe at all times by wiping or sweeping liquids or food that fall on the tables or the floor and wiping surfaces to be safe;
- Follow all guidance and risk assessments to ensure the hall is safe in school;
- Line the children up in their classes on the playground when the bell goes, or return them to their classrooms on a wet day;
- Undertake other such duties as may be required commensurate with the level of the post.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. A commitment towards the wellbeing of children is, however, considered essential. Starting pay will be between £12.85 and £13.05 per hour dependent upon experience, annual salary will be £7,003 - £7,110.
Full training in food hygiene, first aid and safeguarding will be provided as part of your induction.
