An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Assistant to become a key part of our experienced and friendly team at Wimborne First School and Nursery, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).
HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community[1]based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.
At Wimborne First School and Nursery we root for each other and watch each other grow!
We are an expanding school in Wimborne ranging from Nursery up to Year 4. At our school we make sure that every decision we make is in the best interests of the children and their education.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual who is creative and well organised.
You will need to have experience of working with children in a school environment. Wimborne First School is a happy, successful school with committed, experienced staff and fantastic children. We have a wonderful new school building which has state of the art technology.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:
- Must have at least a level 2 qualification in childcare. You should be driven to developing children, utilising effective curriculum planning to treat each child as unique with unlimited potential to overachieve across all areas of the EYFS.
- Have demonstrable experience (min. 2 years) of working in an early years setting and achieving excellent results.
- Assist the Nursery Management in providing day to day high quality childcare.
- Provide a positive learning environment that offers choice, experiences, independence and meets all the children needs.
- Have key person responsibility and carry out daily and individual planning.
- Ensure a safe, secure and caring environment for the well-being of the children.
- A current paediatric first aid qualification is also desired, but not essential.
WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO:
- Be passionate about childcare and helping children to achieve, play and be safe.
- Have previous experience of working with children under the age of five.
- Be qualified at NNEB/NVQ level 2 (or above) or equivalent in childcare.
- Help to ensure that all the children are able to learn and achieve to the best of their ability.
- Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policy.
- Promote self-discipline, high standards of behaviour and positive attitudes on the part of all children and to the implement policies and procedures.
- Supervise the children where required and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations.
- To provide a high level of care that will enhance children’s general health and well-being.
- Ensure that a high standard of care and good order for all children is maintained
- Promote equality of opportunity and fostering an inclusive culture and environment.
- Promote equal opportunities ensuring individual children’s needs and circumstances are known and met through the care and education provided.
- Recognise and acting upon children’s additional or special educational needs and ensure staff support these children effectively. Contributing to the school’s procedures of intervention and support.
