Role Purpose
BCP Council is on an exciting multi-year transformation programme to redesign the way we work across the whole council. As part of this we have launched a new HR/ERP system and are continuing to develop and improve our Payroll Interface to operate alongside this.
We are seeking to recruit a new member of our internal Payroll Team in a permanent role as as a Payroll Support Assistant
Main Responsibilities
You’re an excellent communicator, you are methodical, and thorough, with a great eye for detail . You are a confident user of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Teams.
Whilst some Payroll, HR or Finance experience would be helpful this is not essential and if you are willing to learn new skills we would love to talk to you.
The post is 37 hours, working 5 days per week (but there could be some slight flexibility to consider part time for the right candidate)
Whilst the postholder’s main office location will be the BCP Council Civic Centre in Bournemouth, BCP Council very much supports agile and flexible working and equipment is provided to enable remote working.
The postholder will also be expected to attend other locations within the area as required.

The Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience of using ICT packages such as Word and Excel and maintaining databases.
- Some knowledge of HR, Payroll or finance related systems and processes would be beneficial
- Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a polite and efficient manner.
- Ability to prioritise routine tasks in line with deadlines.
