SEMH Lead

Salary Grade 6 SCP 16 to 22, £28,282 to £31,364
pro rata £21,273 pa (32.5 hours paid for 44.65 weeks including holiday pay)
8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday (32.5 hours). Term Time only (working 39 weeks)
Required from Monday 15th April 2024 or as soon as possible.
The governors of Corpus Christi wish to appoint a SEMH Lead to manage provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. In this role, you will work alongside the Inclusion Leader and the DSL (Designated Safeguarding Leader) to provide an alternative curriculum to meet the specific social and emotional needs of individual children.
The role of SEMH Lead will involve the following duties and responsibilities:
- Provide excellent social, emotional and mental health support for individual pupils
- Promote positive well-being throughout the school, supporting the Catholic ethos of the school
- Provide pastoral care to families, including parents, carers and children
- Monitor and manage identified pupils with SEMH needs to ensure a positive learning environment for all
- Implement and plan strategies to support pupils with emotional self-regulation
- Lead and manage a situation that requires de-escalation to keep the child and others safe
- Build a trusting professional relationship with families of identified most vulnerable pupils
- Ensure a clear line of communication between school and family
- Ensure the most vulnerable children, to the best of their ability, have the skills to access the curriculum in class
