St Clement’s and St John’s CE Infant and Bethany CE Junior School has a unique opportunity for existing colleagues to become SEN Teaching Assistants in our SEN Resource Provision at St Clements and Bethany. The bases will host up to ten children and will focus on developing communication and interaction (ASD and Speech and Language).
We are seeking to recruit an excellent teaching assistant who will have experience in supporting pupils with special needs in a mainstream setting. The successful candidate must have excellent observation and communication skills.
This role will be based within either of our Resource Provision within both schools (with potential flexible working across sites). Each provision will provide education to pupils with Speech and Language needs, ASC and are working up to three years behind their chronological age.
The provisions will be part of the mainstream schools and, where appropriate, children will join the main school for learning and activities.
Visits to the Resource Provisions are warmly welcomed.

• Experience working with EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2 school aged children with SEN needs (including Autism, global delay, and communication language difficulties)
• High levels of energy, positivity, motivation, and resilience
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and liaising with parents/carers and other professionals
• The ability to adapt and use your initiative to enable the pupils you are working with to thrive
• A commitment and passion to supporting pupils with SEND to thrive within a provision to achieve their full potential
• The ability to see every child as unique and build positive relationships
• A strong understanding of children’s emotional presentation and how to meet their emotional needs
• Aspirations to achieve excellence in all you do
• Commitment to continued professional development and are willing to make a positive contribution to our whole school
• Willingness to travel to support across all CLP Provisions (to support absence).
