Job Introduction
This is a wide & varied role for a Personal Care Assistant, who is cheerful, uses own initiative to primarily promote independence by supporting a gentleman daily to retain skill/hobbies, live a full and positive life.
The gentleman has a few health issues, early Alzheimer’s dementia, cardiomyopathy, COPD, kidney disease, wears hearing aids, uses walking stick at home, uses powered wheelchair for outdoors. There’s an automatic adapted vehicle for the wheelchair to attend appointments & social/family commitments.
Support required:
- Support with getting up.
- Personal hygiene shower, choosing clothes, suitably dressed for the day.
- Catheter, ulcer care, creaming of legs, compression hosiery.
- Remind, observe medication, record/chart keeping.
- Breakfast support/observation preparation, meal observation.
- Lunch prep, meal prep support.
- Support with bedtime routine, hygiene, medication, fluids, snacks.
Ideal candidates – someone cheerful, committed to promoting independence, previous experience essential. Must like dogs.
Hourly rate: Please provide rates on your application.
Day & times: 6 days to be discussed, possibly job share, hours 6 to 13 hours per week.
