BCP Council Short Breaks Service runs an activity programme for children and young people with SEND, during term time in the evenings and during school holidays. The services support those aged 0-25, through activities and a youth provision for the young people as they progress towards adulthood.

We are looking to recruit a creative and dynamic Lead Worker to run the SENsational Youth Club at Muscliffe Youth Centre, a new club that has recently been set up as an extension of our SENsational Youth Clubs in Poole. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have experience of working with children and young people with SEND within a lead role, or who are keen to develop their skills and further their personal or professional development.

It is a part time contract consisting of 8 hours per week. The club working hours are 18:00-21:00 on Thursday evenings, the remaining 5 hours would be used for administration and resourcing at other times, and these hours could be completed with flexibility within the week.

We offer good rates of pay, training opportunities, staff meetings and 1:1 staff supervision. This ensures that our staff feel supported in their roles, which will then impact on their ability to provide a safe and high-quality service to the children and young people we support.

There is also opportunity for other types of sessional work during term time and holiday periods, at other Short Break activities and 1:1 direct work with children and young people or families in the community. There is an expectation for sessional workers to travel to various locations across BCP for the delivery of activities. Support with travel costs are available.

This service supports children and young people with complex support and care needs. We would welcome applications form people who have experience of working in a specialist setting and those who would like to develop specialist skills to support these children.

If you would like an informal discussion to understand the role, please contact Jenni Robinson or Nicola Balson on 01202 126222.

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.
