ROLE: Teaching Assistant

SCHOOL: Wimborne First School & Nursery

HOURS: 30 hours per week (Mon - Fri 8.30am – 3.30pm) Term time only

SALARY: Dorset Grade 3 (Point range 3-4) £22,737 - £23,114 FTE, £15,521 - £15,778 Actual Salary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to become a key part of our experienced and

friendly team at Wimborne First School and Nursery, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 communitybased partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

We are an expanding school in Wimborne ranging from Nursery up to Year 4. At our school we make sure 

that every decision we make is in the best interests of the children and their education.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual who is creative and well organised.

You will need to have experience of working with children in a school environment. Wimborne First School 

is a happy, successful school with committed, experienced staff and fantastic children. We have a 

wonderful new school building which has state of the art technology, 

There may be a Special Needs input to support pupils in activities. Support is both on a one to one basis 

and in groups, to pupils with disability, learning difficulties or behavioural problems.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

• You should be driven to developing children, utilising effective curriculum planning to treat each 

child as unique with unlimited potential to overachieve across all areas.

• Have demonstrable experience (ideally min. 2 years) of working in a school setting and achieving 

excellent results.

• Provide a positive learning environment that offers choice, experiences, independence and 

meets all the children needs.

• Ensure a safe, secure and caring environment for the well-being of the children.

• A fun sense of humour

• Self-motivation

• Excellent organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills

• A desire to support teachers and pupils in school

• Good basis qualifications

• Discretion

• A current first aid qualification is also desired, but not essential.
