ROLE: Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language

SCHOOL: Hillbourne Primary School

HOURS: 12 hours per week

SALARY: Grade D5-6 (£23,500-£23,893) Actual Salary £6,373 -£6,480 (pay award pending) 

CLOSING DATE: Friday 28th June – 9am

INTERVIEW DATE: w/c 8th July 2024

START DATE: September 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant role to join our 

experienced team at Hillbourne Primary School, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).

The role will specifically support our SEN children with speech and language on a 1:1 or small group basis. 

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

The role will involve:

• Delivering speech and language interventions to meet the needs of our pupils

• Undertaking activities with either individual or groups of children ensuring their safety and 

facilitating their physical, emotional and educational development

• Assisting teaching staff in the planning of the work programmes for individuals and groups of 

children

• Supporting the class teacher with educational activities in the classroom
