Arboricultural Officer

Job Introduction

Trees are the single largest natural asset that BCP Council manage. 

We are seeking to strengthen our existing Arboricultural Teams to advise on tree inspection and management across Council tree assets.

BCP Council has an emerging Urban Tree Forest Strategy to underpin the need to care, support and invest in our trees. This is needed throughout our diverse network of streets, parks, and council-owned green spaces. It is also importantly recognises the impact we can all make as individuals, by planting, nurturing, and protecting trees and the significant role BCP Council, and its partners, will play over the coming years, and proposes the creation of the BCP Tree Charter, where everyone can play a key role. The creation of the strategy marks an exciting time to join BCP Council and realise delivery of the strategy aims and objectives.

Mentoring and in house training can be given.

Key responsibilities in Environment Trees:

  • Positively and actively support, the Arboricultural & Landscape Manager and the team on tree related matters.
  • Undertake tree risk management inspections
  • Liaising with aboricultural contractors to ensure work is carried out to the correct standard
  • Deal with both internal and external tree related enquires including liaising with the public, councillors, and other professionals.
