Catering Compliance Officer

Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Compliance Officer to join our team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Executive Catering Manager in the monitoring of school catering contracts.
  • Ensuring that schools offer a service in line with the National Government Agenda for Food and Nutrition.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the arrangements for hot school meals in primary schools to include the development and delivery of the hot school meals strategy in accordance with the Government’s guidelines and nutritional standards.
  • Regular monitoring visits to schools and contract locations, to ensure specific standards are met.
  • Producing accurate monitoring reports, records of service delivery, take up and quality assurance.
  • Working in partnership with providers, schools, statutory organisations, and other local authorities to develop the service for the future. 
  • Complying with all decisions, policies and procedures and any relevant statutory requirements, including the Equality Act, the Health and Safety at Work Act and Data Protection Act.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience of working in the catering industry.
  • Basic Food Hygiene/level 2 Food safety.
  • Formal catering qualification i.e. 706-2 or NVQ level 2.
  • The ability to think creatively, innovatively, and logically.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • The ability to read, re-format and understand data. 
  • Knowledge of nutrition and principles associated with healthy eating for children.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle including business insurance to facilitate the school visits.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS with both Adult and Child Barring lists.

Part-time, term time only, 20 hours per week.
