15 hours per week Mon–Fri 4.00pm–7.00pm, term time plus inset days and 1 week during school holidays (times agreed with Line Manager)

SALARY:               

Poole Grade B, £23,656 FTE per annum

We Need YOU! Bearwood Primary and Nursery School is a school with high expectations and standards.  We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual, with previous experience of cleaning, ideally in a school or other large building, to join our team. Someone who is prepared to help create a healthy clean environment for their colleagues and pupils to work in.  Teamwork makes the Dream Work!

This is a fixed term contract to cover the absence of a member of staff on secondment and will end on the date given in the contract.  The contract may be terminated at an earlier date, with due notice, should the permanent postholder return to work.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY: 

You will need to:  

  • Work well as part of a team as well as independently and be able to use your initiative  
  • Have excellent communication skills with children, staff, and parents
  • Carry out the cleaning of designated areas within school to an agreed standard under the direction of the Site Manager
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and general hygiene of the school premises
  • Have a basic understanding of health and safety issues
  • Have a general understanding of key safeguarding issues and procedures
  •  

Duties include: -

  • Cleaning, washing and sweeping designated areas as appropriate
  • Emptying litter and waste bins
  • Polishing and dusting furniture, flooring and fittings
  • Using powered equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaners, polishers) where appropriate
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children and adults, adhering to all Health and Safety regulations and requirements.
