Job Introduction

ROLE:  Higher Level Teaching Assistant

SCHOOL:  Hamworthy Primary Schools

HOURS:  Term Time only (38 working weeks per year)     

Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 3.15pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. (31.25 hours per week). 

SALARY:  Grade F (Spinal Point 12 – 17) £27,711 - £30,060 pro rata

Hourly Rate: £14.36 - £15.58

Actual Salary: from £19,570.06 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our friendly support staff team at Hamworthy Primary Schools. You will need to be self-motivated and enjoy working with children, to encourage positive behaviour. The role will include provide teaching cover and release for PPA in the classroom across the Infant School. 

Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School are part of the Hamworthy Primary schools Federation. Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School are part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

We require Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work within our Federation, (Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School), within Early years or KS1.

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO: 

    Has a positive, caring manner, with high aspirations for the achievements of all pupils 

    Has a growth mindset, where resilience and solution finding are apparent in all that you do, alongside a positive approach to working with our children.

    Will work effectively alongside & under the direction of, the Class teacher, Year Leader & SLT

    Has experience of working with children through the Primary (Infant) phase

    Has a good understanding of inclusion, being able to champion the most vulnerable 

    Will deliver high quality lessons – planned by, or with, the teaching team, including for regular PPA sessions. 

    Will be adaptable and flexible, providing cover for teacher absence.

    Enjoys contributing to a supportive, dynamic team.
