SALARY: Grade F12-17 (£26,421-£28,770) Actual Salary £19,108-£20,807 (pay award pending)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our experienced team at
Hillbourne Primary School, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).
This is a unique position to work alongside the class teacher in leading the teaching and learning for a class
of pupils. You will be working with the class teacher and senior leadership team in this role to ensure all
pupils are able to access a high quality education which is “all about the child”.

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 communitybased partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:
The role will involve:
• Covering the class teacher and leading the teaching the learning for 1 day a week in the absence
of the class teacher
• Supporting the class teacher with educational activities in the classroom
• Undertaking activities with either individual or groups of children ensuring their safety and
facilitating their physical, emotional and educational development
• Assisting teaching staff in the planning of the work programmes for individuals and groups of
children
