Job Introduction

ROLE:                                Human Resources Officer

SCHOOL:                          Hamworthy Primary Schools Federation (Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School)

HOURS:                            28 hrs per week

                                           40 weeks a year (term time including Inset Days, plus 1 week)

SALARY:                           Grade F points 12-17 (£26,421- £28,770 per annum pro rata)

                                           From £17,562 per annum

CLOSING DATE:               Midnight – Sunday 2 June 2024

START DATE:                   To be discussed on successful application. The Federation wish to provide the successful candidate with sufficient handover time; therefore, our preference is to start week beginning 8 July 2024, but this is flexible with 1 week either side of the date.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Officer to join our experienced team at Hamworthy Primary Schools, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).

 

HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

The HR Officer will work closely with our School Operations Manager and Office Manager to deliver a professional, friendly and efficient HR service to the school. This role will involve a variety of administrative HR activities including recruitment, pre-employment checks, safeguarding, absence recording and some involvement with basic employee relations matters.

 

About the role, we are looking for someone who:

  • has previous experience in HR administration, ideally in a school environment
  • may be a Foundation or Associate member of the CIPD; through our apprenticeship levy we can support further development
  • has a strong customer focus to support the development and delivery of our HR service
  • has experience of successfully following and implementing policies and procedures 
  • has an interest in enhancing employee well-being

 

About you, we are looking for someone who:

  • has excellent administrative and organisational skills and is able to sustain a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
  • Is able to maintain utmost confidentiality at all times with respect to staff information
  • has the ability to work to deadlines in a busy and demanding environment
  • is proactive, confident and reliable, with excellent communication skills
  • has high expectations in terms of their own performance as well as that of our pupils
