Role Purpose
- Various hours required
- To lifeguard all pool activities in accordance with Royal Lifesaving Society guidance.
- Ensure equipment is set up safely and in a timely manner for customer use.
- Assist throughout the day in ensuring the leisure facilities remain clean.
- To be constantly vigilant with regards to any Health and Safety issues.
- To provide non specialist coaching following a predetermined programme

Main Responsibilities
The role of Leisure Assistant is a busy and varying role with lots of challenges. You will have many responsibilities that range from managing the day to day set up of the activities to lifeguarding. This role can be physically demanding at times, but is very rewarding too.
The Ideal Candidate
It is essential for the role that you hold an up-to-date RLSS NPLQ or equivalent (the equivalent must include first aid or you must have a separate first aid certificate)- should your application be received without clearly noting an appropriate qualification, the application will be rejected.
Knowledge of health and safety would also be desirable.
You will be required to work a variety of shifts between the hours of 06.00 and 23:30, across 7 days a week.
BCP Leisure operates a range of sites across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. The position includes cross site working:
- Rossmore Leisure Centre, BH12 4HR
- Ashdown Leisure Centre, BH17 8RE
- Poole Dolphin Leisure Centre, BH15 1TN
- Two Riversmeet Leisure Complex, BH23 1HW
- Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre, BH7 6JD
