Safeguarding Children Partnership Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children’s Partnership’s (PDSCP) Business Unit as the Safeguarding Children Partnership Co-ordinator.  This is a fantastic position that supports agencies who safeguard and improve the wellbeing children and families within the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area and within Dorset. You will help improve the quality of life for the people of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole by ensuring that the business activity of the PDSCP is efficient and effective. 

Role 

You will support and coordinate the business activity of the PDSCP with the help and direction of the PDSCP Business Manager. You will have a focus on the partnership within Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole and also work across the Pan-Dorset area. You will receive regular supervision and a tailored induction and will join a dedicated and supportive team. The post offers a hybrid method of working, you will be based at the Civic Centre in Bournemouth and have the flexibility to work from home. 

Your work will include:

  • Coordinating safeguarding audits and other quality assurance activity.
  • Coordinating and supporting specific safeguarding reviews including Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs) and ensuring that the learning is implemented.  
  • Coordinating arranging, administering and minuting multi-agency meetings.
  • Being the key contact for professionals and agencies on behalf of the Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children’s Partnership.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with a range of partners. 
  • Managing a part time administrator. 
  • Supporting the PDSCP Business Manager 

About you

  • You will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • You will have a high level of resilience, have attention to detail, have emotional intelligence and the ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure.
  • You will excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • You will have excellent analytical skills.
  • You will have good IT skills.
  • You will understand safeguarding principles and practice, together with the ability to research and understand detailed information on new areas of work.

You will have a NVQ 4, HND or diploma or equivalent experience) relevant to the role e.g., social work, early help, youth services, adult services, education, health, police services etc and ideally experience in working in safeguarding and in multi-agency arrangements.
