Senior Commissioning Officer – Drug & Alcohol Commissioning Team (DACT)

Job Introduction

The pay range for this role will be £38,220 – £46,142 (pro rata for part time colleagues)

BCP Council Adult Social Care Commissioning have an exciting opportunity for a permanent post within the Drug & Alcohol Commissioning Team.

 

This role will play a key role in reducing alcohol-specific harm. You will often work with stakeholders within local authorities and health, work in partnership on the development of strategies and commissioning services to address alcohol-related issues, including looking into alcohol specific deaths

 

The successful applicant will co-ordinate and drive this aspect of commissioning, with the support of partners, through the process of reviewing and monitoring current provision and identifying what services / provision are needed moving forward, engaging with key partners and people who use services, action planning and service design/redesign.

 

This post will suit someone who has a background or understanding of working with people with substance use issues or has knowledge around the complexity of individuals accessing services or has previous experience / background of working within health and social care arena or experience of commissioning or transferable skills that support the key activities detailed within the job description.

 

As a senior commissioning officer, you will be expected to manage your time and workload effectively, show attention to detail and an ability to develop appropriate solutions to challenges in the marketplace and/or commissioning provision. You need to have confidence to engage positively, lead meetings, represent BCP DACT at a local, regional and national level on the substance use agenda, develop strong partnership working opportunities and be able to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.

 

You will be working in a supportive management and learning environment. There will be opportunities to support or lead on other projects, attend webinars and training to further develop your knowledge and skills in the commissioning and social care sector. BCP DACT are looking for a full time officer Mon - Fri but would welcome applications from individuals who would like part time hours.
