Senior Commissioning Officer - Prevention and Wellbeing - 12 month Fixed term contract

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Commissioning Officer – Prevention and Wellbeing. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and implementing our prevention strategy, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our services are effective, efficient, and person-focused. This role is fixed term for 12 months.


Main Responsibilities


  • Contribute to the development of a system wide prevention strategy


  • Research, collect, collate and analyse data on prevention and best practice both locally and nationally


  • Establish and maintain robust partnerships with key internal and external system partners


  • Stimulate stakeholder involvement in the development of the prevention strategy by organising and chairing workshops, consultation events, information events, forums and steering groups as appropriate.

 

  • Monitor and evaluate existing commissioned services to ensure preventative outcomes, efficiency and value for money

 

  • Explore long term funding options for preventative services 

 


The Ideal Candidate


  • High level of understanding of the Adult Social Care sector and the Social Care Transformation agenda.

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a good working knowledge of partnership working and developing services with partners

 

  • Ability to identify, understand and apply legislative changes that could impact on the way in which commissioned contracts are developed and monitored with the social care service area.

 

  • Ability to be self-directed, use own initiative and be able to manage own time and workload priorities

 

  • Knowledge of project planning, project and budget management.
