This means the salary for this role will be changing. The pay range for this role will be £60,357 - £67,381 p.a.  p.a. from 1 December 2025.

Service Manager - Housing Options

Managing the Strategic Housing Options Team at BCP is incredibly rewarding. As the Service Manager, you'll lead a team of dedicated Principal Housing Options Managers who are committed to helping our teams achieve their full potential. This role is not just about leading a large enthusiastic operational team, but also comes with significant decision making responsibilities which influence the future direction of the service, and ensure we make a real difference in the lives of our customers who need our support. The team have received recognition locally and nationally in relation to some of the projects and services we have developed, and it is our ambition to be a champion of best practice. It's a role that offers both personal and professional satisfaction, with the opportunity to be part of a supportive and successful management team.

About The Role

 

Looking for an experienced Service Manager who is able to lead our high performing Housing Options service who is skilled in working with a range of statutory and voluntary and community sector partners to deliver services which support a range of housing needs across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Reporting to the head of service, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated leader focused on delivering the very services for our residents. As part of this you will lead a large operational workforce ensuring that they are valued and working in an environment where they can thrive and be supported to develop themselves.

 

Our award winning housing teams are passionate about what they do for our customers, your role will be to further drive innovative service development through an inclusive leadership approach.

 

The role provides working in a modern working environment and practices, which include flexible and remote working as well as face to face with the team. The post holder will have direct management of a number of principal managers and will be a key member of the Strategic Housing Leadership Team to ensure our response to our customers is joined up, responsive and inclusive.

 

You will be a confident service manager with substantial experience in homelessness and housing law with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a challenging but exceptionally rewarding role for an experienced housing professional. Working as part of an innovative and creative leadership team this role provides a rare opportunity to build on achievement, drive transformation and change and make a real difference to people’s lives.

 

 

 Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of excellent housing advice services to improve the quality of life of the people of BCP, ensure fair access to affordable housing, deliver a comprehensive housing pathway for those in housing need and facing homelessness, and ensure excellent engagement with stakeholders that together have a critical role to play in the broader housing system and access to suitable housing 

 

  • Lead projects that drive forward service improvements and shape policy by developing services in line with national policy and local need, ensuring that services are of excellent quality  

 

  • Responsible for the design and delivery of a number of multidisciplinary professional teams that deliver the Councils statutory housing functions. 

 

  • Lead the housing options service providing a high quality integrated service delivery by maximising the potential of people and delivering value for money for our local residents
