Role Overview: BCP Virtual School is looking for an exemplary Lead Teacher to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for promoting high aspirations and improving the educational outcomes of CIC, ensuring every child has a clear educational plan for success.
As the Lead Teacher, you will support the implementation of key policies and procedures, provide guidance to school leadership and governor teams, and work closely with social care and multi-agency professionals. Your role will also include the quality assurance of all plans and support for an allocated caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the implementation of Virtual School policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure they support the improvement of outcomes for pupils.
- Provide direct support to colleagues, school leadership teams, governors, and other professionals to ensure the PEP process and document show a clear educational plan for improving outcomes of pupils.
- Provide regular case supervision for allocated team members.
- Contribute to management oversight of all records (including PEPs) for CIC, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Retain oversight of all data analysis pertaining to your area of expertise and contribute relevant narrative for reporting against Virtual School key performance indicators/measures.
Specific Responsibilities for Post 1 – School Training and Pupil Key Stage Transitions:
- Design and deliver an annual training programme for schools.
- Provide guidance to Designated Teachers (DTs) and support them with practice audits and action planning.
- Coordinate the annual transition planning and support for schools and young people, ensuring accurate data recording and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to degree level (Essential).
- Qualified Teacher Status or other relevant education qualification (Essential).
- Experience working within the wider Children’s care system, especially an understanding of the needs of Children in Care (Essential).
- Experience working in a school or education setting as a middle or senior leader (Essential).
- Extensive knowledge of school systems and planning educational provision (Essential).
- Experience working with vulnerable and challenging young people (Essential).
- Experience of effective practice within a Virtual School (Desirable).
- Working knowledge of statutory guidance as it pertains to CIC and your area of expertise (Desirable).
- Experience working as part of a multi-agency team (Desirable).
